Lunar Moth Honestly Maybe
Lunar Moth Honestly Maybe was released digitally on August 26th produced recorded and released by Lunar Moth and Fuzz Tapes.
Lunar Moth Honestly Maybe
Lunar Moth Honestly Maybe is a cleaver blend of grunge, folk and stoner rock with driven guitars, power chords, wonderful vocals from Amber Moth. They carry strong 90s tones with thick overdrive pushing into distortion while using acid folk melodies and dark dooming rhythms. Their music has a fresh energy paired with tension and a three member band.
Honestly Maybe takes Lunar Moth‘s sound in a heavier direction. Several of the some have heavy distortion and give of a stoner metal sound with a female lead vocal. The album doesnt use clean or jangling guitars but pushes into dirty tones throughout. The drummer is straight forward and the bass lines add a thick wall of textured low end. The vocals carry the melody and are in front of the instrumentation.
Lunar Moth is Amber Moth – Vocals & Guitar, Mac Felckowski – Bass & Backing Vocals, Gage Brunes – Drums & Vocals. The band is located in Madison, Wisconsin in the Northern Midwestern region in the USA. The band has wonderful merch and album covers packed with excellent design and illustration from the vocalist and guitarist Amber. The album was made at Fuzz Tapes Studios 3.0 and Engineered, Mixed, & Mastered by drummer Gage Brunes. There is a clear evolution in production from their previous releases to Honestly Maybe. The guitars sound full and present with warm low end, the drums are clear and punchy and the tones are rich and deliciously dirty. The vocals sound wonderful the performance is more rhythmic, present and cleaner than on past releases. The production has subtle echo, reverb and a vintage compressed squeeze that sounds great.
Lunar Moth is the second band with these three musician in the line-up they were formerly known as A Well known Secret. In that line-up Gage Brunes was on guitar instead of drums. The decided to change their name and direction after regular line-up changes for the position of drummer. Lunar Moth has a different sounds from their previous project as Amber take on the guitar and vocals and the band moves in a heavy grunge 90s direction.
Lunar Moth has set its sights on the heavier and dark side of their palette with Honestly Maybe. The band has begun setting out and playing shows around the midwest with stunning light shows from Heart Of Sun Liquids.

About The Psych Rock
The Psych Rock is a page dedicated to underground music that rocks, folks, dooms and drones. I am always writing about bands that get much less attention then their level of skill or creativity deserves. I find these bands or they find me and we work together to get the word out about their music. This is an act of charity on my part but selfishly it helps me keep all my favorite new albums compiled in one spot because sometimes the record shelf is a bit too expansive to remember which of my latest buys I should listen to.
If you would like to reach me to introduce your band head to the contact section and send me a message. I acknowledge that it has been a little quite around The Psych Rock the last month or so but I am looking to get back into the saddle and continue with regular updates. That said I received many emails from many bands and labels during that time and I apologize for not having time to dive into your correspondences.
If you would like to support the efforts here send me physical copies of your music or buy music from my band Black Satori (links Below) or share my reviews on social media.
