Murlocs Canned Manic Episode

Murlocs from Geelong Australia have released their 4th full-length album Canned Manic Episode on Flightless Records released March 22nd 2019. A Murloc is an imaginary creature from the World of Warcraft and The Murlocs are imagination expanders who really rock.  Guitars, organ, bass drum, keyboards, saxophone harmonics and more make for a diverse textured album of music. Many songs get the heart pumping with raucous energy others touch a familiar classic rock melody which is both classic and contemporary. This album is filled with music that feels like a sunny day at the beach with a few weird folk moments.
The Murlocs
The Murlocs have two members from King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Ambrose Kenny-Smith on keyboards, harmonica, vocals and percussion and Cook Craig on guitar, slide and keyboards; Flightless Records itself is run by The King Gizzard team. The album was mixed by Jarvis Taveniere of Woodist Records and the psych-folk-rock band Woods. Canned Manic Episode was recorded by Stu Mackenzie the front man of King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. This album has a host of notable individuals involved with its production and recording and it shows in the final product.
Canned Manic Episode has whimsical garage rock with a King Gizzard style inventiveness with interesting progressions and unique build-ups. Murlocs have taken garage rock to a new place which retains the energy of underground rock while appealing both to pop music and the experimental.
