High Pitched Scream Two Songs EP was self-released on May 26 2020.
High Pitched Scream Two Songs EP is he debut release and tears into noisy shoegaze with psychedelic garage rock inspirations. The music is home recorded and is essentially a solo project by David Lloyd. The wild guitars and shoegaze tropes are inspired and a highlight on the album. The vocals step outside the shoegaze scope using popular melodies and verse chorus sensibilities which blend perfectly with the instrumental arrangements.
‘Hammer Smashed Radio’ vocals remind me of Elliot Smith as they have a songwriters feel but the backing instruments are edgy, echoing, overdriven and a little experimental. This album may appeal to fans of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr., Cult of Lip, and Ringo Deathstar.
High Pitched Scream is from Syndey, Australia and this is the first release from this band. Looking forward to seeing what they do next! : )
