The Paranoyds – Pet Cemetery from Suicide Squeeze ((Video Below))
Exciting day! Just announced another incredible release from Suicide Squeeze! The Paranoyds new singles Pet Cemetery slated for release on November 27th 2020. The album is a 7″ vinyl with coke bottle coloring limited to 750 copies world-wide.
The Paranoyds reach into their dark gothic side for this new music. ‘Pet Cemetery’ (see video below) is dark garage rock with vintage organs and retro guitar tones. The organs is riffing on a melody that could be a in a vampire movie soundtrack. The guitars have a doom stoner vibe but with just a smidgen of overdrive.
This new single shows that The Paranoyds are stretching their sound beyond the energized garage pre-punk sounds of the past albums. The second side of the single features ‘Hotel Celebrity’ presenting a lighter side with an ode to Hollywood and a garage rock sound. I have not had a chance to listen to this song yet. I certainly ordered my copy of this limited edition colored vinyl 7″.

The packaging looks very campy horror movie halloween. The cheeky reference to the Stephen King novel and film shines through on the retro look for the cover art. There is a bit of humor behind the music and nostalgia.
The Paranoyds
The Paranoyds are from Los Angeles, California, USA and started in 2016 with a limited cassette. The first full length album was released in 2019 on Suicide Squeeze titled, Carnage Bargain. That album featured punk garage rock with attitude and a nod to popular music. From the first listens of the new single it appears their sound and production has come a long way from the first album and I predict more incredible music to come with premium quality music.
