Mossy Kilcher is a collectors item in the vien of Vashti Bunyan, Linda Perhacs, Sibylle Baier, Annie Briggs, Tia Blake, Connie Converse and contemporary artist Marissa Nadler, Marie Sioux, Shana Cleveland, Alela Diane, Meg Baird and more.
Mossy Kilcher Northwind Calling is beautiful with acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, harmonica and no electronic instruments. The music is an ode to the Alaskan landscape in which she resides. The music is soothing gentle and inspired. Although I would not call it acid or psych folk it is 100% inspired by artists in those genres.
The style is close to the UK folk music form the early 1970s than the America or Canadian schools of folk music. The distinct closeness of feeling to Annie Briggs but also to California native Kate Wolf.
The music is enchanting escape from the troubles of our times and a retreat to a peaceful land filled with natural wonders the likes of which are fading away in our current times.
