New Candys Vyvyd was released on June 4th 2021 on Fuzz Club Records and Little Cloud Records in the USA with limited edition vinyl variants and expanded artwork and inserts.

New Candys Vyvyd is one of the best shoegaze albums of 2021. The music oscillates between effects laden psych rock, and shoegaze with grunge vibes. The melodies on Vyvyd are catchy and packed with brooding attitude giving the album more popular appeal than their previous albums. The tones, production and overall quality of sound on the album is premium quality. New Candys are at peak performance through out the album and every song is highly entertaining. The band brings in more electronic elements this time around adding synth, beat machines and injects dancable rhythms.
New Candys Vyvyd shoes off a new found confidence in songwriting and vocal arrangements. The guitarist and singer Fernando Nuti has accelerated his abilities to a new level. The vocals have a wonderful tone balancing disinterested attitude, clear and present tonality along with great lyrics. The guitar tones are a cross between contemporary psych rock, shoegaze, 90s grunge with hints of 80’s chorus. The overall effects is sensational and begs the question why don’t my guitars tones sound that good? and what did they do to make such great tones?
New Candys are from Venice, Italy and began releasing albums in 2010 with a self released CDr folowed by the first full length titled, Stars Reach The Abyss in 2012. Vyvyd is the follow-up to the incredible 2017 release Bleeding Magenta from Fuzz Club Records. They toured extensively on Bleeding Magenta and attracted international attention in the underground rock scene.
Vyvyd was written by Fernando Nuti starting in 2017. “I’ve started to sketch some songs for the record during a very tumultuous period for the band, with many line-up changes between the end of 2017 until mid 2018, but as soon as the new line-up formed, the excitement to create new music together was overwhelming, and helped the creative process immensely. We also looked for a danceable element this time, that’s something we’ve always loved and wanted to explore further”.” says frontman Fernando Nuti. The album was recorded in 2018 and 2020 following extended touring.
New Candys Vyvyd is a great album and is certainly going to make the best of 2021 lists in the psyched out blog scene. The band has brought its sound to new levels and has produced which maybe their best album yet. They have been consistently evolving and releasing genre defining albums throughout their career. Vyvyd is not to be missed and will stand the test of time with its classic yet modern sound.
