Dead Sea Apes Adam Stone Black Tempest – Dataland

Dead Sea Apes Adam Stone Black Tempest – Dataland is a electronic rock album featuring a collaboration between three amazing psych rockers out of the UK. The album was created remotely sending files back and forth through the internet. This new method of creating music led to new experimentation in writing and recording processes and thus resulted in a new and unique album Dataland.

The album is primarily synth and vocals reflecting on post-industrial culture and the compartmentalized nature of western capitalist life. Its new vintage kosmisch and krautrock driven by warm analogue synth and beat machines. The overall sound is futuristic sci-fi with a 1970s flare. The guitars on the album focus on effected lead lines with plenty of cold reverb to keep the dystopian vibe. The songs evolve and build in complexity overdubbing loops and motorik beats.

Dead Sea Apes Adam Stone Black Tempest – Dataland is a new sound for the Dead Sea Apes due to the focus on moody electronic compositions which is a departure from their usual psychedelic rock sound. Don’t get it wrong the album is psychedelic rock but more from the German 70’s kosmiche movement. The sound is also a bit 80’s with a Blade Runner sound track feel that brings to mind futurist cityscapes and clockwork cultures.

About The Psych Rock

Its February and USA has a new president and the psych music is sounding good. Lets just ignore all the problems of the world for just a moment. The Psych Rock is here to help you find new music that is underground and psyched out. From doom to folk and electronic analogue synth drift. The site is populated with artists who push boundaries, experiment with new sounds and blend genres like no one has before.

The musicians on these pages may or may not be able to live as full time artists, in most cases not and now with covid even more so. Make sure you help these wonderful people out and support their music buy their records, grab a download sing their praises.

I have been doing alright working on the website and seeking out new bands and new vinyl. Started selling off some of my records online which has been fun. Working hard on finishing up a solo album of folk rock psych songs recorded right here in my living room. My other band is looking at releasing another full-length of psych rock in the next year or so. Otherwise been laying low staying fairly safe, exercising a lot, serving the whims of my cats and drinking deeply of the awesome music.

Supporting musicians is the name of the game. Buy their stuff and if you have money falling out your ears buy a lot of the most expensive stuff from bands. Give extra on bandcamp. Just Do it! They need you to help keep the great music flowing.
