Atlin Gün – Yol is Turkish psychedelic rock from the Netherlands. The up beat songs have a retro vibe with vintage toned guitars, hand percussion, synth and traditional Turkish string instruments. The overall effect is a celebration of music that can keep you dancing all night long.
Atlin Gün – Yol is the third full length from this talented band. They formed around a band member who was interested in doing traditional songs from Turkey. The band formed with members adding spychedelic garage rock flair to the traditional songs. The result is infectious and energized music that could be mistaken for a deep cut from a lost 60s compilation of world psychedelia.
Yol has incredible percussion that includes a drum kit, hand drums, shakers, claps, snaps, tambourine and samples. The funky bass lines are supremely moving. There is no way to not tap or move to the beat.
The band members share vocal responsibilities with both male and female singers taking the lead. Yol has more synth and keys than their previous releases and this gives it a stronger modern vintage electronic feel than previous albums.
Atlin Gün released its first album in 2018 titled, ON. The follow-up Gece came out in 2019 and was nominated for best world music Grammy and had more forward stings and guitars. Yol sees the band focused on tight rhythms and dance friendly synth combined with their vintage psych vibe.
