NANI∞GURU VOVIVIZM Episode 1.5

7.7 / 10 hyper-experimental, psychedelic noise-prog

NANI∞GURU VOVIVIZM Episode 1.5 (Remastered) was released July 22 2020 by Kawabata Makoto.

NANI∞GURU VOVIVIZM Episode 1.5 is an experimental space rock duo with liquid guitar leads, space age synth and superb drumming. They describe themselves as “a hyper-experimental, psychedelic noise-prog duo.” The futuristic music has the legendary Japanese guitarist Kawabata Makoto and drummer Satoshuma Nani both of Acid Mothers Temple. Kawabata Makoto has been making absolutely incredible music over the last several years and this album is another special piece of music that cannot be replicated.

“Dandy Monday Candy” and the opening track “Nebula In The Pocket” stand out for me because they are the least far-out. For something totally insane “Vovi Cell Divisions” will get you there like smoking DMT, and speed while on 1000 ug of LSD it will get you there and satisfy your masochistic need for something completely insane and weird.

NANI∞GURU VOVIVIZM Episode 1.5 is not everyone’s cup of tea its crazy intense and disorienting. The musicianship and creative exploration is off the charts. the speed of the music boarders on unbelievable. The noise worship is ever present flirting with complete musical chaos. The futurist sounds, strange new musical language creates an ambiance unlike any I have heard. I picture nano robots assembling an Artificial humanoid from the nano-level, digital cells dividing and construction themselves.

NANI∞GURU was formed in 2018 while on tour. The duo had studio time and recorded their first album immediately after forming. Their self-titled album was released in March of 2018 as a limited tour CDR. The Second album Episode 2 was released on limted cassette in May 2019. VOVIVIZM Episode 1.5 is a compilation of the best music from the self-titled album and Episode 2. Kawabata Makoto did the remastering.

Kawabata Makoto has been on over 200 albums from the later 1970s to today. He released 10 or more albums every year throughout his musical journey. The last 3 years have been a new era in his career and he is consistently producing original music that is some of the best in his career.
