Frankie and The Witch Fingers Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters Eating People Eating

9.5 / 10 Psychedelic Garage Rock Excessive Awesomeness.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters was released on October 2nd 2020 on Reverberation Appreciation Society and Greenway Records with several colors of vinyl CD and download. It is a triumph and 100% exceeds expectations one of the best psychedelic rock albums of the year, of the decade. It is awesome.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters is a psychedelic rock explosion with driven retro guitars, echoing vocals, and music that can make you jump up and down wishing for live concerts. This is the bands most psychedelic album reaching into new skillfully executed cosmic textures. The lyrics sound like instructions from Timothy Leary’s LSD trip guides and the music soars from garage rock into psychedelic and experimental territory.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers formed in Los Angeles California and released the debut album Sidewalk in 2013. Their break out fifth album ZAM released in 2019 on Greenway Records had propelled them to open for ZZ Top and Cheap Trick. The band has a love for vintage music ranging from CAN and R&B to Miles Davis but the music is heavily 13th Floor Elevators and psychedelic rock inspired.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers have yet to disappoint fans and release one strong album after another and Monsters Eating People Eating builds the hype. The recording is clear with incredible driven guitars, fuzz tones, synth, reverb and echoing rock vocals. The rhythm section drives the music from retro garage rock to 1970’s CAN style krautrock. The album has far-out improvisations and experimental explorations that go deeper then on previous albums.

The addition of the snyth is compelling and elevates the raw sonic textures into UFO Cosmic Light. The album has repeated references to aliens and UFOs along with funky witchy jungle vibes.

The lyric is are psychedelic with themes of self reflection, evolution, cosmic rays and psychedelic trip advice. For example on “Can You Here Me Now

“Are you freaking out? I am freaking too, Maybe you should lie down; you should.” They proceed to get experiential with glitching synth and guitars melting into rainbow effects.

A related theme emerges on “Simulator” Dylan Sizemore sings, “Wake up your simulator, wake up and override, wake up your human nature” and on “Let Me Urge You” the lyrics read, “Let me urge you to go deeper. Deeper into what you are. Let me Urge you to go deeper, it will take you far.”

Frankie and The Witch Fingers Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters Eating People Eating is a work of visionary psychedelic rock and is definitely one of my favorite albums of the year of the decade, its awesome.
