Dead Meadow Live At Roadburn 2011 has rich fuzz tones, charged energy and gobs of heavy stoner rock. Dead Meadow’s early years saw them release their most energized and psyched out stoner music. This early time period is encapsulated beautifully on the Live At Roadburn 2011 release. This is what Dead Meadow is all about, this is why they developed legions of fans across the globe. Dead Meadow Live At Roadburn 2011 has their wah and fuzz guitar solos is shining glory along with the driven fuzzy full bass tones that drive the 3 piece band. They play classic tracks like ‘Sleepy Silver Door’ ‘Let’s Jump In’ and ‘At Her Open Door’. These are all played with extended jamming solos that take the songs to the next level.
Dead Meadow’s first full length was released back in 2000 their best known albums are Feathers, Shivering Kings and Others and Old Growth. Three Kings was a live album and DVD that was also very popular. The band has been well know for its incredible live performances. The stage energy seems to be the definitive feature of the band with dripping and textured fuzz tones that any stoner rock fans will gush over.
Dead Meadow Live At Roadburn 2011 is an excellent album and one of my personal favorites from the band. The performances are incredible. The tones and guitar work are electrifying. They play a set with many of the best known songs and perform them with clarity and confidence. There is no down side to this album except that the vinyl edition is all sold out from official sources. The artwork for the album and the multicolored vinyls are stunning.
