The music thrives in retention, drone, awesome tones and varied instrumentation. GNOD is eclectic and has continuously evolved making music that is always unique and extremely creative. This compilation is not just a piece of fanfare but presents great music that sound hi-fi and is every bit as great as their many albums and collaborations.

GNOD Easy To Build Hard To Destroy is a droning fuzz rock album that is experimental, stoney and relentlessly interesting. Their tones and approach to songwriting are as impressive as ever. It is amazing to think that this band has been making innovative music with such skill for such a long time.

GNOD is from Salford, UK and their first release was in 2007 and they have minted 49 releases including EPs, singles, collaborations and full-length albums. Every year this band graces the blogosphere’s best fo the year lists for psych, drone, stoner, and heavy psych. This compilation has the raw energy and inspiration found on their albums and has a live room vibe on many songs giving the audience a taste of their prowess.

GNOD Easy To Build Hard To Destroy follows 2020s hypnotic album GNOD & Joāo Pais Filipe – Faca De Fogo which features incredible drumming and percussion from Mr. Filipe and is not to be missed. Prior to that they released the critically acclaimed apocalyptic heavy drone rock album Chapel Perilous. This band has too many album to outline here but they have their own sound that can be filtered into many diverse forms of musical expression from drone, to doom, stoner, heavy psych, death rock, experimental art rock and psych rock. the lexicon of releases from GNOD is a deep long journey with untasted rewards and a commitment to raw creative impulse.

GNOD Easy To Build Hard To Destroy fits neatly into their history of music and it’s hard to believe these were unreleased or invisibly obscure. The songs are inspired, driven and touch one many of the bands strongest attributes. The fuzzed out guitar tones are premium the texture of the distortion on the bass and other instruments is delicious. The vocals are set back and echoing with a dark vibe. The drums are slow with a heavy hand and mixed with various other percussive elements. The album brings the listener into loops of drone and nuanced repetition combined with heavy doom rhythms. Songs like “5th Sun” build a dark heavy mood that feels like a form of apocalyptic surrealism. The opening track “Elka” is in contrast with relatively mellow drones and atmospheric psych rock. “Deadbeatdisco!! Part 1 & 2″combine for over 20 minutes of great live music with chill drones, saxophone, and world music vibes. The gentle intro slowly burns filling the air with stoney smoke until the heavy rock kicks in.

GNOD Easy To Build Hard To Destroy is a very cool album. This band is so creative and makes such great music its hard to not be excited by their new releases even if its music from the past. This album is a great listen. Be sure to support the bands and labels that make this incredible music. Remember without these people this music would never have existed.
