Urtidsdjur – Vandringssång Single was released on November 5th 2020 on Som Sverker Recordings the second single from the upcoming Self-titled full-length.
Urtidsdjur – Vandringssång (Hiking Song) is a song about discovery. The lyrics are about the treasures seen once a new journey begins. The melody is inspired by Swedish folk music and the song features a traditional ‘mouth harp’ to add to the rhythm. The bass and drums create an upbeat rhythm and the guitar is electric with moderate overdrive. The traditional Swedish melody sounds very cool with the electric guitar. The vocals are in beautiful two part harmony between two male band members. This track even features a church organ adding greater depth to the composition.
The vocals are soothing and inspired, the guitars sound great and the rhythm is upbeat. The psych folk sound of the song is a joy and this tune can make chills run up your spine.

Urtidsdjurs has their debut full length album coming out on November 25th 2020 on Gothenburg label Som Sverker Recordings.
The 12 inch vinyl LP is published in a limited number of 111 copies. White inner sleeve and inlay in clear PVC sleeve. 16 of the discs are in marble-colored vinyl, the rest is black. The artwork is hand printed by the band, Lino-cut on left over tapestry.
Urtidsdjur (pre-historic animal in Swedish) plays some kind of psychedelic progg/indie rock with lyrics sung in Swedish. Influences can be found in e.g. Bo Hansson, Dungen, Atomic Swing, Slowgold, and Den Stora Vilan.
