Wildfires- Belongs to the Night (Official Video) – Shoegaze Nostalgia

Wildfires- Belongs to the Night (Official Video)

Wildfires are from Austin, Texas USA and their debut album Skateland will be released in January of 2021. Belongs to the Night is the first single off the upcoming debut. The song has shoegaze, alternative rock and 90s nostalgia in the mix. The echoing rocker vocals and the dreamy single note guitar riffs are cult rock style.

Wildfires- Belongs to the Night starts with a slowly creeping snyth and FXs bubbling and then eases into a rock song. The move from kosmische cosmic ambience to 80s 90s chorus reverb guitar riffs lands the sound in the shoegaze world. The tone is melancholic and fits the times here in 2020. The two guitars interact one on the other while the bass and drums build the drive of the song.

The vocals are echoing and reverb drenched digging into a attitude soaked melody. The song repeats the phase ‘interesting times’ in various contexts and we are indeed in interesting times and can we survive it? The song asks these questions and the down gaze sound of the song makes it real.
