A/LPACA – Make It Better

A/LPACA – Make It Better is a wildly creative psyched out rocking experience. Their vital energy and wacky style is well played and the songs make twists and turns into the psychedelic rabbit hole. The songs each move forward with unrelenting momentum driving drums and bass edge toward a motorik style but stay contemporary and rock oriented. The guitars thrive in riffs and 16th note blasts alsong with soaring effects. The tonality has a balance between vintage psych, krautrock and Oh Sees / King Gizzard style rock.

A/LPACA is from Italy and Make It Better is the first full length to be released on a vinyl. Their first album 24 H A Day was digital only release on Goodbye Boozey Records. The band consists of Christian Bindelli on vocals and guitar, Andrea Verrastro on bass, Andrea Fantuzzi on keyboards and Andrea Sordi on drums. Make It Better was recorded in 2020 by Davide Chiari at La Buca Recording Studio in Montichiari, Brescia. The mixing was done by Marco Degli Esposti. Mastering is by Lorenzo Caperchi.

A/LPACA – Make It Better has the vibrancy and creative passion of a newly emerged band. They have a unique sound and musical vision however, their influences are easily identifiable in their songs. This is common for new bands as they lay back into their influences as they develop and grow into their own sound. The music is very fun with a playful nature that doesn’t blast our flowers and peace signs but instead is playful in the sense that they are will to explore and be weird and wacky. Their sound overall is fairly psych punk garage rock and never slows down or becomes boring.

A/LPACA – Make It Better is a great album from this young band and if history tells any story bands that draw comparisons to Oh Sees and King Gizzard while having their own sound pushing through have a great track record of underground notoriety. This band sounds like they could write albums with ease and fluidity. They sound very comfortable in their song writing making tracks that feel raw and off the cuff while maintaining great structure and focused tonality. really enjoy about the album is the push into weird guitar tones, over the top moments and am digging the dark undertones in the songs. At times the album feel like a story unfolding giving me the impression that this band has potential to crank out quality new music as part of their innate creative process.

A/LPACA – Make It Better is very good and you could check it out and buy a copy to be an awesome person and support the arts and musical futures of the underground rock scene.
