Psychic Lemon – Studio Jams Volume 4 is the next installment in their series of live studio recordings. Psychic Lemon are experts in the business of psychedelic space rock improvisations. Their wild tones, mind bending effects and steady progressive rhythm section make music that is out of this world. The band listens closely to one another and responds the the feeling in the room. They grab the listener and bring them along for a in the moment psychic journey.
Psychic Lemon – Studio Jams Volume 4 is built around the bass and drum with steady tight rhythms that evolve from simple to complex. The guitar is used with an array of effects including heavy echo, reverb, fuzz, vibrato and more. For much of the album the guitar is used unconventionally with swirling atmospheric effects at high volume. The guitarist Andy Briston also includes synth in these compositions to add more alien textures to the music.
Psychic Lemon – Studio Jams Volume 4 has the band pushing deeper into space with sprawling jams that show influence from krautrock, space rock, kosmische and progressive rock. The overall sound is tribal groove with pulsing rhythms, unidentifiable sonic overtones, complex bass lines and alien landscapes. The band normally has an experimental rock sound which is recognizable on this latest album however, the music is now a slow burn long run time improvisational jam. Some of my favorite moments are when it moves into more complex rhythms that bring to mind those found in Tools music. They lay down a blankets of kaleidoscopic effects on the guitar and synth that are designed to build on the outer space and alien world themes.
Psychic Lemon – is from the UK and their last full length album Freak Mammal from Drone Rock Records was on my best of 2019 list because of its creative approach to space rock. Since that time they have only released live albums including Live at The Smoke House and Studio Jams Volumes 1 -4. They are a great live band and much of their music leaves room for improvisation. The Studio Jams series has been great to listen to and each volume presents a new angle on their unique and recognizable sound. Be sure to support the band to help them make more incredible music.

The Psych Rock is here to promote awesome underground music that is wildly creative. The page is a one person operation and I want to thank everyone who has helped keep me motivated with your great music and awesome promos. Many thanks to all the viewers how have check out the page I hope you found a bunch of new and awesome music. 2020 was a good year for the page because I was stuck at home and I listened to all the music and discovered new music continuously. I have been a bit busy but doing my best to keep on top of the new releases and the many great artists and labels who take the time to send me emails.
How am I doing you ask? I am well Looking for more opportunities to share my creative talents. I have been writing a new album for my psychedelic rock band Black Satori, we have some exciting news coming soon! I finished up a home recorded full-length solo album and I am determining how to release it to the world. Its a folk rock album with some psychedelic vibes. My other solo albums can be found under Temple Rose. I have been writing for POWmagazine.org which has been a delight some great longer form articles there about music. I am finding new hobbies and looking for more work as well. So it has been difficult to keep up but I appreciate all your support!
