Wildwood Morning is a psych-folk-rock album from Berlin Germany. The songs have keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, reverb vocals, and steady percussion. The songs fall neatly into the psychedelic folk rock tradition with electric guitar leads, dreamy tones and a home done recording.
Wildwood Morning is H. Wienecke and L. Lazzarin and Wildwood Morning is their first album. The songs are home recorded and well written and even feature some South Asia drone instruments like the shruti box. The music is inspired and has many collaborators adding to the arrangements.
Wildwood Morning‘s Earthy music is dreamy and spacious perfect for a cloudy rainy day or a walk in the misty forest. the lyrical themes are dark folk to intimate and existential. The vocals are sung in both English, Italian and Deutsch. There are tracks that are tied to the traditional Germanic folk music as well as songs with more contemporary influences.
Wildwood Morning will appeal to fans of Fit and Limo, Urtidsdjur and classic folk rock from the 70s, 90s and today. There are a few classic rock moments like on the songs “Deep Shadows”. The psychedelic sounds are present through out in the overall vibe of the album with expansive reverbs and clear 60s rock sounds.
Overall, Wildwood Morning is a excellent folk rock album with psychedelic influences. The first single is ‘Fermati Tempo’ and has a music video that can be seen below. The video shows off their back to the Earth aesthetic with flower dresses and overalls in mountains, fields and tool sheds. There is a bit of a hippie good vibes sound on the album.
