Adam Jones is the guitarist for Tool and after years of Research and Development Gibson has created a custom Les Paul signature guitar limited edition of 79. The video has an astronaut falling through a empty space landing in a forest an seeing a glowing Gibson guitar in the sky. The soundtrack is a new song with Tool members Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey.
The guitar looks awesome it is a replica of the 1979 Silver burst Les Paul Custom with wear and minor distressing on the back. 22 fret, 12 inch radius, Custom-Wound Seymour Duncan DDJ in the bridge and reverse-mounted covered Custombucker. The final touch is Adam Jones signature on the back of the head stock and a mirror on the front like the one added to Adam Jones’ 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom.
This is the first time that three members of Tool have composed a song outside the band.

Adam Jones is the visual arts director for Tool. his background as a makeup artist in Hollywood and had worked on Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, and Ghostbusters II. He also created the music videos for Tool including ‘Schism’, ‘Sober’ and more.
The Witness
‘The Witness’ is the latest video created by Adam Jones and the first that is not for Tool Proper. This video is instead related to his new custom Gibson guitars. It features an astronaut that is falling into nothingness and smoke and clouds. He lands in a pine forest that floats in a mysterious space. The astronaut dies when he lands there and it cuts to an insect emerging from a cocoon. This insect seems to lift the astronaut’s dead self and the Armour. It floats forward to coming to a huge object floating vertically above the ground.
The object is a Gibson Les Paul Custom Alex Jones Signature over top of a tree that grows upward and downward. The video moves into more guitar scenes and a spirit emerges from the dead astronauts skull. The guitar is a slow reveal with mist and fog. After that the insect and the spirit explore the guitar with ultra close ups on the guitar that appear to be CGI combined with photographic images.
The video a meditative reveal of the new guitar and is the first advertisement from Adam Jones. Whats most interesting is the new song and the new way of collaborating in musical composition from the three members of the band. The new guitar looks beautiful and is no doubt an incredible instrument for a great player.
