Tambourinen Wooden Flower was released on May 1st 2020 on cassette and on November 20th on Vinyl via Centripetal Force Records (USA) and Cardinal Fuzz (Europe).
Tambourinen Wooden Flower is improvisational acid folk with fuzz guitars, flutes and drone. The songs build in intensity until Velcro ripping guitar tones melt the speakers.
Tambourinen Wooden Flower is cosmic space rock, kosmische, acid folk and drone all in one. The music is in a constant metamorphosis. The droning organs, deep introspective soundscapes and climactic guitar leads make for an excellent album and will greatly please fans of The Myrrors.
Tambourinen Wooden Flower was written, recorded, and mixed by Grant Beyschau during the winter of 2019 / 2020. Grant Beyschau is a member of The Myrrors and the similarity in musical style is evident. Wooden Flower is the first album from Tambourinen and it is a strong debut.
Wooden Flower drones and swirls building up and tearing down song structures for a free open musical presentation. The fluidity expressed in the tracks brings the listener into the creative flow. It is impressive that the album sounds so spontaneous when the tracks feature so many overdubs and just one musician.
I you have been waiting for the next installment in The Myrrors catalogue this album should fit the bill rather well. The two bands have a clear distinction in tone, instruments used and overall sound however, it feels very much like a piece of The Myrrors.
