Space Program Flotilla is a far-out journey with experimental improvisations that are abstract space rock . The quintet plays off one another using free expression. The instruments play softly building in volume as they progress through the compositions.
The theme of the music is outer-space sci-fi with strange echoing tones, self oscillating vocals, spaced synth lines and a few stoner space rock guitar solos. The rhythem section is driven by the bass with the drums coming in from the background. The feel early 1970s krautrock with long form improvised tracks which are free to evolve in the moment of recording.
Space Program Flotilla is all improvised and draws on space rock, krautrock, kosmiche, post rock and acid jazz. The 5 piece band is from Brooklyn, New York in the USA and features Tariq Shah on Percussion and drums, Ryan Due on Electric Guitar, George Monteleone on Synth and Cornet, Oscar Diez on Guitar and Ben Bray on bass.
