Queen Elephantine Tribute To Atrophos Volume II
7 / 10
Queen Elephantine Tribute To Atrophos Volume II was released on June 1st 2020 by Atypeek Music in France.
Tribute to Atrophos Volume II is the second ep in a series of improvisational sessions where the band embraces the ethos of krautrock, free experimentation, and stoner riffing. This was inspired by the current global situation with coronavirus and the need to make music in a new way.
Queen Elephantine was formed in 2006 in Hong Kong and now resides in Pennsylvania, USA. This album is the second in a series of improvisations and is the follow up from the November 2019 release Gorgon. This album is a pay what you can release on bandcamp.
Queen Elephantine has a 6 person line-up for this album and they create a free rich sound that has a live quality. The blending of influences from all over the world create a unique flavor and tone. The bands musical instincts are distinct from the standard grooves in the genre and takes on drone, wandering single note solo lines and transcendent abstract musical directions.
The music is very interesting to listen to and the recording quality is good. The music is unique and creative with a flow state feel. The album continues to take new directions in the jams and move into abstract spaces that can only be found in improvisational situations. Check it out!
