Acid Mothers Reynols Vol. 1 is a weird psychedelic drone folk rock perfect for mystical pagan dances in the tropical forest and as a soundtrack on your spaceship’s green house. The band is 9 members who create a one of a kind album with embodied performances that tap into a deep inspirational well. The music is is the now and of the present moment; raw creative energy on tape.

Reynols is from Argentina and this is their first release in 15 years. Mihuel Tomasin on drums and vocals and Acid Mothers Temple led by Kawabata Makoto. The album was recorded in 2017 in Buenos Aires during Acid Mother Temples South American tour.

Reynols released its first album in 1993 under the original name Burt Reynols Ensemble. They had many small run cassettes and CDs displaying their unique experimental approach to music. Reynols has released more then 50 albums and has been inactive from 2007 until early 2020 when they reemerged. Much like Acid Mother Temple they ascribe to a creative process of improvisation and one time performances in the studio.

Kawabata Makoto is the founder of Acid Mothers Temple an experimental psychedelic rock band from Japan which has reached legendary status in the underground rock scene. The line-up is an ever changing collective and the various collaborators team up for new bands and recordings. Kawabata Makoto alone has appeared on over 200 albums.

Acid Mothers Reynols is part of this lineage of music and another one time performance from these unique talents. This year the albums coming from this group of musicians have been more cosmic experimental folk rock less bombastic and noise driven then the past. AMT and its syndicates are moving into drone acid folk territory striking a tone like no other group.

In past the insane and unique guitar styling of Kawabata Makoto would push the limits and challenge listeners tolerance for new sounds with heavy feedback and raging distortion combined with lightning fast solos earning him the name speed guru. Now he continues to define his unique approach with less subtly.
