Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson) was released on John Dwyer‘s Bandcamp page on December 29th 2020.

Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson)

Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson) is an experimental rock assault. Brain Gibson is the drummer from Lightnigng Bolt and John Dwyer is from Oh Sees, Osees, Damage Bug, Witch Egg and Bent Arcana. The album is high energy free improvisations and each of the 15 tracks are untitled.

Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson) This surprise album comes after a prolific end of 2020 for John Dwyer who released 4 Osees albums and started a new band called Witch Egg making for at least 6 albums in just 4 months. This album share little in common with his other projects and explores new sounds and new ways of writing and making music. The sound is more aggressive and raw with less focus on melody and more drive build around percussive guitar drums and vocals.

Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson) the intensity of the live room sounding drums is forefront in the sound of the songs with the guitar laying just behind in the mix. The vocals re highly distorted and are usually set back in the mix. The primary theme of the album is agressive primal raw intensity.

Netmen (John Dwyer and Brian Gibson) The album was recorded in a warehouse in Providence on a 4 track recorder. The premise was to get high and improvise wild music. The recording has that sound of a large live room with instruments bleeding into one another and the drums being most present in the sound. For a two man band the level of intensity is impressive.
